“I must be about My Father’s business.”
As a 12 year old boy, our Lord Jesus knew who He was and what His assignment was. He had an intimate relationship with His Father and had been diligently preparing Himself for His mission in life. His surprise at His parents’ distress when He was found in the temple with the teachers listening and asking them questions.
And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?
Even at that young age, He was zealous about the things of God and had a single-minded focus on doing the will of His Father.
Every one of us was created by God for a purpose.
Every one of us was created by God for a purpose and once we have been snatched out of the enemy’s hands and translated into the Kingdom of God, finding and fulfilling that purpose should become our number one priority. But because of a lot of different reasons, that objective is often not made clear to the new believer. We become settled and satisfied with a few crumbs when the Bread of Heaven is available to us. Why? Because we haven’t been taught. Or maybe it’s because we have been taught, but we don’t want to pay the price. Many are content to live their lives just the way they want, grateful that they have escaped the fires of hell, but showing little or no interest in the Kingdom that they have become a part of. Religion and tradition have blinded their minds to the Truth and they no idea of their true value.
“In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don’t.” Blaise Pascal
And yet there are some who refuse to ignore the hunger inside that is constantly longing for more and they will not be stisfied until they have found it.
And then there are so many who have no idea that they have been graced with gifts and talents for the express purpose of fulfilling a destiny that was assigned to them from before the foundation of the world. I was one of those. Only within the past few years have I allowed the hunger in me to grow in intensity until God made a way for me to become aware of the Truth through the teaching and preaching of His Word. I was hungry and He fed me and now instead of being satisfied I hunger for more and more of Him and have an intense desire to know Him and to be in the center of His will. I have become a Godchaser.
Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
