Have Faith in God

Our Lord Jesus said, “Have faith in God” in response to His disciple’s astonishment at the fig tree that had withered away at His rebuke. Jesus’ lesson to us, after this amazing demonstration of the power of faith, teaches us how to receive answers to our prayers.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Mark 11:22-24

Hide the Word in Your Heart

Faith is about speaking the Word of God into existence in our lives (v. 23–whosoever shall say). Doesn’t the Scriptures say, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks?” Do you have the Word of God hidden in your heart so that is what comes out of your mouth? First step–Hide the Word in Your Heart!!! The Word of God in your mouth is powerful enough to move mountains, but that Word must have been planted in your heart first!!! Why? Be cause doubt is the deal-breaker.

 Doubt is the Deal-breaker

We often gloss over Jesus’ warning–and shall not doubt in his heart! Doubt is a subtle influence that can nullify every bit of faith you try to grow. We deal with doubt by establishing and cultivating our personal relationship with God. When we really know Him and continue to learn to trust Him, doubt and fear lose their hold on us.

Look at the Father of Faith–Abraham in Romans 4:20. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief–doubt. He was fully persuaded that the Word of God was Truth. Abraham believed what God had promised him.

 Faith Comes By Hearing

Romans 10:17 says, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word God. The word “word” in this passage of Scripture is the Greek word rhema. A rhema word literally means an utterance or a spoken word, but it can also mean a Word that God speaks to your heart. When God speaks a Word into your heart, it is up to you to treasure it and make it real in your life by practicing it or acting on it by faith.

So, how do we have faith in God?

  • Hide the Word in your heart
  • Deal with the doubt
  • Speak the Word only
  • Treasure the Word
  • Practice the Word

Will I Find Faith in the Earth?

We know well the verse of Scripture that says without faith, it is impossible to please God. This undercores the huge importance that He places on faith and in us trusting Him to be God. Life is full of trouble and trials, but Jesus, our Holy High Priest, is making intercession for us even now that our faith would not fail. He has given us His Word, His promises, and asked us to trust Him. But on His return will He find faith in the earth?

Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Luke 18:8a

We must be like the persistent widow in Luke 18 who stood strong against her adversary until she received what was due to her. We each have been given a measure of faith. Let’s do the work necessary to develop  the kind of faith that “staggers not at the promise of God through unbelief.”

 Make this declaration with me:

I declare that I am fully persuaded that what God has promised me in His Word He is fully able to perform. I refuse doubt. I have faith in God!!!

“Let your life reflect the faith you have in God. Fear nothing and pray about everything. Be strong, trust God’s word, and trust the process.”Germany Kent
