Going Hard After God

You will find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.  Jeremiah 29:13

Basically, there are two kinds of Christians–the carnal and the spiritual.

The carnal Christian, for whatever reason, shows very little evidence of his born-again experience and is content with going through the motions of life. They have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, but do not know Him as Lord.

The spiritual Christian is the one God is looking for. He says it plainly in John 4:23 AMP:

But a time is coming and is already here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart, the inner self] and in truth; for the Father seeks such people to be His worshipers.

The word for worship in the Greek is proskynéō. It’s literal meaning is to kiss the hand of someone. It means to prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore).

The Father is seeking those who will get close enough to Him to kiss His Hand, to fall prostrate in His Presence and reverence and adore Him. And this, not just on Sunday mornings, but as a lifestyle!

The spiritual Christian is going hard after God! He is kicking aside every obstacle and hindrance so he can get into His Presence and abide there. Jeremiah 29:13 in the Amplified Bible says it well:

Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

The words “vital necessity stood out to me!!! A vital necessity is something that you cannot live without–like air!!! When we get to that point where finding Him and being in His Presence is more important to us than the air we breathe–then we will truly find Him.

Cultivate your hunger for God by aspiring to become a true worshiper, by worshiping Him in Spirit and in Truth. The Father is looking for YOU!
